Sports · スポーツGrand Sumo: Takasago Stable Morning Practice
A rare morning inside a real Tokyo sumo stable: watch active professional wrestlers go through their serious asa-geiko (morning practice) up close, then take a commemorative photo with them. Takasago-beya is one of sumo's most storied stables — home over the years to six Yokozuna (grand champions) and eight Ozeki, and where Mongolian-born Yokozuna Asashoryu once trained. Matches are watched quietly from a respectful distance, but the training-floor intensity is something you only see at practice. The tour finishes in the morning, leaving your afternoon free for Asakusa — Sensoji Temple is about a 20-minute walk away.
